Local Attractions
Located at the base of the Kiamichi Mountains, our scenery alone will entice you. But while you’re here, don’t forget to visit some of the following locations:
Beaver's Bend Area Cabins: Offering an array of luxurious cabins tucked in the Ouachita and Kiamichi Mountain wilderness, many cabins are located within a half-day’s drive of major cities in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, making them a perfect setting for a quick getaway.
Broken Bow Lake: Created in the 60s when the Mountain Fork river was dammed, Broken Bow Lake stretches over 20 miles into the Ouachita and Kiamichi wilderness. With over 180 miles of natural shoreline, Broken Bow Lake is a great place for fishing, boating, jet skiing, eagle-watching, and water sports of every kind. Our lake is sure to become a family destination you will enjoy year after year!
Beavers Bend State Park: Located along the shores of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River, Beavers Bend State Park offers recreational opportunities galore! Outdoor enthusiasts and families will enjoy hiking, biking, nature trails, animal/bird watching, trout fishing, water sports, canoeing, horseback riding, picnics, and train rides. With festivals and events scheduled throughout the year and shops and restaurants aplenty, everyone will find something to love at Beavers Bend!
Gardner Mansion and Museum: Located just east of Broken Bow, the Gardner Mansion and Museum is well known for its collection of prehistoric and historic Indian and pioneer artifacts.
